Members
who work with addicted patients know the
challenges patients face, not just to locate
competent psychiatrists, but to identify
adequate insurance coverage, recover from the
illness and find support to deal with the
stigma. AAAP actively seeks ways to
achieve protections and benefits for
patients. Members can take part in this
effort directly, or know that their dollars
support AAAP leadership in doing so.

promotes the need for health professionals to
be adequately trained to screen, diagnose and
treat individuals with substance use and
mental health disorders.

policy makers and other when new issues
