We’re are excited to announce that applications are officially open for our two Educator Awards! Additionally, nominations are being accepted from residency directors for our esteemed Sheldon Miller Early Career Award. It’s important to highlight that the Sheldon Miller Early Career Award operates solely on nomination basis. To be eligible for this honor, rising PGY3 residents must receive a nomination from their residency director. All the details and guidelines can be found below. The AAAP Award for Medical Student Educator (AMSE)
The AAAP AMSE recognizes an Addiction Psychiatry AAAP Member in clinical practice who demonstrates a sustained record of outstanding contributions to medical student education in Addiction Psychiatry. Read more about eligibility and criteria here.
AAAP Award for Residency Educator (ARE)
The Residency Educator Award recognizes an Addiction psychiatrist in clinical practice who demonstrates a sustained record of outstanding contributions to psychiatry residency education in Addiction Psychiatry. Read more about the eligibility and criteria here.
*This award does not apply to fellowship training and specifically recognizes the education of general psychiatry residents.
Sheldon Miller Early Career Award
This award is given to rising PGY3s residents nominated by a residency director (PGY3s starting in July 2024 – can only be nominated), who is enrolled in programs related to the treatment of substance use disorders and co-occurring psychiatric disorders. Nominate with the following Nomination form or Share the below form with your Residency Directors if interested. Once they are nominated they will receive access to submit their application.
